Hometown Inspiration Art Show by Bedford Arts Collective

Hometown Inspiration is an outdoor art show set in the beautiful courtyard at The Center for Family Development on Shelbyville’s historic town square — a gathering place where stories, memories, and creativity come together.

This special exhibit features original artwork created by local artists, each piece inspired by the idea of “hometown.” For some, that means the streets and sunsets of Shelbyville. For others, it may be the small town their parents or grandparents once called home. A hometown might be a familiar front porch, a favorite diner, a cherished annual event, a beloved teacher, or even a story passed down through generations.

Through painting, photography, mixed media, and more, our artists explore what hometown truly means — not just a place on a map, but a feeling, a memory, and a connection.

Hometown Inspiration invites the community to slow down, walk the courtyard, and see themselves reflected in the art around them. It’s an opportunity to share in one another’s experiences, celebrate our roots, and honor the people and places that shaped us.

Join us on Shelbyville’s town square for an evening of art, storytelling, and community — because no matter where we’re from, we all carry a hometown in our hearts.
