Heather Fry
Heather Fry is a multi-disciplinary artist whose work is colorful, playful, and a little quirky, with moments of nostalgia and reflection woven throughout. Her practice shifts across mediums, with a current focus on collage, mixed media, and acrylic painting, while also exploring watercolor and other mediums. Always experimenting, she enjoys finding new ways to combine mediums into unique and vibrant pieces.
Heather rediscovered her love of creating after joining the Bedford Arts Collective, a community where she not only exhibits her art but also serves as an organizer. This role has deepened her passion for building spaces where artists can connect, collaborate, and share their work. That sense of belonging also inspired her to open The Artist’s Hoard, a creative art supply store and classroom space in Shelbyville, TN, where she continues to support fellow artists and the local community.
In addition to her studio and community work, Heather holds a BS in Photography and an MS in Instructional Design. She works as a freelance instructional designer specializing in online course creation, presentation design, and workbooks. Teaching remains an important part of her artistic practice as well, whether through classes and workshops in gel printing, paper quilling, collage, and other creative disciplines at The Artist’s Hoard.
At the heart of Heather’s journey is a love of color, community, and creativity — and a belief that art should inspire joy, spark connection, and remind us of the things that matter most.
