CatieBeth Thomas
CatieBeth Thomas is an interdisciplinary artist and Tennessee native working in Middle Tennessee with fibers and locally sourced materials. Her work explores themes of duality, preserving native plant life, plant sourced colors, and environmental connections using historically “craft“ mediums: weaving, quilting, natural dyeing and printmaking. She is deeply inspired by the native plants and beautiful wilderness of the Southeast US as well as her studies in Art History and Printmaking from MTSU. Her goal with each artwork is to invite the viewer to pause, be present, and appreciate the beauty that exists in nature even on the smallest scale. She also enjoys teaching others about art and volunteering with local schools and homeschool groups. She is currently teaching a monthly (free for all) art class at Linebaugh Library as well as art classes in her own studio and at local businesses in Middle Tennessee.
